Ken and Shirley

Ken and Shirley Nefe were my grandparents. I lost my grandfather in 2016 to heart failure and my grandmother in 2019 to stage four breast cancer. After my grandmother passed my sister, dad and I were left to pack up their home. My dad found the boxes. The boxes that held their memories, their lives before they were Grandma and Grandpa, Mom and Dad, the lives when they were simply Ken and Shirley.

This body of work started as a way for me to deal with my grief, what I found was comfort seeing their lives they had and the love that they had for one another but also the love that they had for their family.
